Rosalía Announces Her Upcoming Album “Lux”
Rosalía is entering a new creative era. The Spanish singer and songwriter has officially announced her highly anticipated fourth studio album, Lux, set to arrive on November 7.
This release marks her first project since Motomami (2022), the genre-blending record that set a new standard for Latin pop with its mix of reggaetón, electronic, and avant-garde sounds. But Lux has something different to offer — a grand, orchestral exploration of spirituality, femininity, and transformation.
Rosalía revealed Lux in her trademark dramatic fashion — first with a giant billboard in Times Square, then through a TikTok Live where she previewed snippets of new music. She also shared that the album will be divided into four movements, featuring 15 digital tracks and 18 songs on physical editions.
Rosalía recorded the entire album with an orchestra, introducing a baroque-inspired, cinematic sound. During her TikTok Live, Rosalía shared an orchestral piece, giving fans a glimpse of the album’s detailed production.Later, on Instagram Live, she was seen driving through Madrid listening to Mozart, nodding to the classical influences shaping her latest vision.
The singer also revealed the album cover, showing her wearing a white veil against a blue sky — an image that quickly went viral and inspired memes comparing her to the Virgin Mary.
Several song titles draw from religious and spiritual imagery, including “Mio Cristo,” “Dios Es Un Stalker,” and “Divinize.” Collaborators on the record include Björk, Carminho, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Yves Tumor, and the London Symphonic Orchestra.
In an earlier interview with Highsnobiety, Rosalía reflected on her creative evolution:
“It’s been a process,” she said. “I’ve changed a lot, but at the same time, I’m still wrapping my head around the same things. It’s like I still have the same questions and the same desire to answer them.”
“I still have the same love for the past and the same curiosity for the future,” she continued.
With Lux, Rosalía once again comes to share with the world that her imagination has no limits.
