Here Are All the Latine Nominees for the 2024 Grammys

It’s that time of the year again! The nominations for the 2024 Grammy Nominations were announced today (Nov. 10). Among this year’s Latine nominees are Peso Pluma, Karol G, Ice Spice, and more.

This year, only one Latine artist appears in one of the “Big Four” categories, which includes Album, Song, and Record of the Year, as well as Best New Artist. Dominican-American rapper Ice Spice is up for Best New Artist. There was some hype around Mexican superstar Peso Pluma possibly being nominated in that category, but that didn’t happen. Karol G’s history-making LP Mañana Será Bonito wasn’t nominated in the Album of the Year category like Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti was last year. Moreover, Mexican-American hit-maker Edgar Barrera, who wrote Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “un x100to,” is nominated for Songwriter of the Year.

Though they didn’t receive love in any of the main categories, Karol G and Peso Pluma still received nominations in the Latine ones. The Colombian superstar’s Mañana Será Bonito is up against Rauw Alejandro’s Saturno and Tainy’s Data for Best Música Urbana Album. There’s a note that says less than 40 albums were submitted for the category, which is why only three were nominated. Peso Pluma is a first-time nominee in the Best Música Mexicana Album (including Tejano). His Génesis album faces LPs from Ana Bárbara, Flor de Toloache, Lupita Infante, and Lila Downs.

In the Best Latin Pop Album category, Maluma’s Don Juan album faces Gaby Moreno’s X Mi (Vol. 1). AleMor, Pablo Alborán, Paula Arenas, and Pedro Capó are also nominated in that category. The Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album is stacked with Juanes’ Vida Cotidiana facing LPs from Natalia Lafourcade, Fito Paez, Diamante Eléctrico, and Cabra. Rubén Blades, Luis Figueroa, Grupo Niche y Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, Omara Portuondo, Tony and Mimy Succar, and Carlos Vives are nominated for Best Latin Tropical Album.

The most-nominated artist of the year is SZA, who has nine nominations. The 2024 Grammy Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Feb. 4.
