Karol G is leaving her mark in the Barbie world. On June 15, the Colombian reggaeton pop star dropped her newest music video for “WATATI” featuring Aldo Ranks. The new song is part of the official Barbie movie soundtrack.

It’s no doubt that the new dembow-influenced song featuring the Panamanian reggae en español figurehead takes Barbie and Ken to the world of perreo. However, in the new music video directed by Mike Ho, Karol takes us into a Barbie-core world as she interacts in the World of Barbie exhibit in Los Angeles, CA. She’s dressed in bright colors and wears pink shades and pink hair. 

She also sports rollerskates which reflects one of the movie’s scenes. Another shot shows Karol in front of a “The Barbie Show” banner, wearing a diamond-studded one-piece. She also sings in front of the already signature mug shot background, which we also know comes from the blockbuster movie that stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Other scenes show her in a galactic atmosphere, singing her verses in a spaceship, where Ranks makes a virtual appearance.

“For a long time, I wanted to make music that would remind me of the great Panamanian songs that I danced to and enjoyed years ago that are still part of my playlist,” Karol G previously said in her Instagram stories about the collaboration. “It’s an honor… Obviously, we will have Barbie perreando.”

Barbie’s bound to have a huge premiere. The highly-anticipated film’s official soundtrack and movie will be out on July 21. Besides Karol’s track, another Latine artist participating is Ice Spice, who is dropping a remix with Nicki Minaj for Aqua’s “Barbie World.” So far, the soundtrack has revealed “Dance The Night” by Dua Lipa and “Angel” by PinkPantheress.
