WATCH: Juanes & Nelly Furtado Reunite on Stage — & Make Major Announcement

Juanes brought out a very special guest during his world tour stop in Toronto. On Sunday night (March 10), the Colombian rocker reunited with Canadian pop star Nelly Furtado. In addition to performing one of their classics, Juanes and Furtado also revealed they have a new song on the way.

Nelly Furtado first embraced Spanish-language music in 2002 with Juanes. She recorded the duet “Fotografía” with Juanes for his album Un Día Normal. The heartfelt ballad was a big hit, reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs, Latin Pop Airplay, and Latin Tropical Airplay charts. “Fotografía helped Furtado branch out into the Spanish-language music market. In 2006, Juanes later featured on the song “Te Busqué” from her Loose album.

Over 20 years after the release of their first duet, Juanes reunited with Nelly Furtado in Toronto. He brought her out as a special guest while on his Vida Cotidiana World Tour in Canada. They sang a beautiful rendition of “Fotografía” live. The massive crowd sang along to every word in Spanish with them. Juanes told Furtado after visiting her country that she had to see him in his hometown of Medellín, Colombia. She accepted his offer to visit in the future.

“Excited to have met @NellyFurtado again at her home Toronto!!” Juanes wrote in a post on X. “Thank you to the whole audience for making us feel so happy. This story continues.”

Juanes confirmed to Rolling Stone that he has another collaboration with Nelly Furtado on the way. The two joined forces again for the new duet “Gala Y Dalí,” which will be released on March 28. “I could give myself an opportunity to break away from my sound, from what I play on the guitar, to go to a more Caribbean, so to speak, more danceable sound, which Nelly also wanted to have in this song,” Juanes shared in a statement about the song.
