Tourist Announces Fifth Album Alongside Gushing Single “Valentine”

After a packed year in 2023, releasing three singles while announcing his upcoming world tour, UK songwriter and producer Tourist is kicking off 2024 strong with the release of his new single “Valentine” alongside the announcement of his fifth album, Memory Mornings, which is set to arrive via Monday Records on April 19.

“Valentine” is the latest in Tourist’ hot streak that has been the beginning of this album rollout. It is atmospheric by nature, and stylistically is reminiscent of the shoegaze era. It is ethereal, dreamy, but also disorienting. The track also samples vocals from The Jeremy Spencer Band’s 1979 song, “Travellin’”. Fitting song title for an artist named Tourist.

On the upcoming album, Tourist had this to say:

“Often my music draws from specific life events but this album really lives in and was born from my imagination. I wanted to write something that felt like it whisked you away, an album that felt like a “place”, somewhere you might find new corners with each listen. Fundamentally, it’s inspired by dreams, memories and all those in-between experiences that are sometimes better expressed through music.”
