Shakira Honored With Billboard’s Global Touring Icon Award
Shakira continues to make history. The superstar was recognized with the first-ever Billboard Global Touring Icon Award during the 2025 Billboard Live Music Summit in West Hollywood on November 3. The honor celebrates the massive success of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which has already broken multiple records across continents.
Tour director Marty Hom, who has worked with major legends like Fleetwood Mac, Barbra Streisand, and The Rolling Stones, presented the award. “As your longtime tour manager, I am so proud and truly honored to present the first annual Billboard global icon tour award to you,” Hom said while introducing her. “We get to witness every day how hard you work to do the best show possible for all your fans.”
Shakira first learned she would receive the award backstage during rehearsals for her recent performance in Cali, Colombia. She immediately dedicated the recognition to her entire touring crew, including dancers, musicians, and production team
The Live Nation–produced tour has already generated remarkable numbers. The first 64 of 82 scheduled shows brought in $327.4 million in revenue and sold 2.5 million tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore. As a result, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran now leads as the highest-grossing Latin tour by a woman and trails only one tour for the top spot in Latin touring history.
Shakira also made history in Mexico City. Across 12 sold-out concerts at Estadio GNP Seguros, she moved 780,000 tickets, averaging 65,000 people per night, according to promoter OCESA.
Reflecting on the tour, Shakira told Hom, “It’s encouraging and inspiring. I never thought, not even in my wildest dreams, that I would fill every stadium. It’s incredible and motivating at the same time, I feel like I’m just starting my career, and it’s crazy because it’s been 30 years … This has been the best tour of my life, it’s been just as we dreamt it. We worked so hard, overcoming every obstacle, it hasn’t been easy, we worked many, many long hours to make everything as good as people deserve it.”
Shakira also shared where her personal priorities are today: “I’m completely dedicated to my boys and my career. That’s all I need, my boys, my fans and my music, and creating, it’s fulfilling a big part of my life right now.”
