Shakira has officially stepped into her “Soltera” era, marking a new chapter in her career with the release of her latest single, “Soltera,” on October 11. The Colombian superstar’s newest offering blends afrobeat with reggaeton, delivering a dynamic track that features notable cameos from Anitta, Danna, Lele Pons, Natti Natasha, Winnie Harlow, and Bizarrap. The music video, set in a variety of vibrant, party-centric locations, offers a glimpse into a wild night out, filled with dancing, gambling, and surprises.
The highly anticipated video opens with Shakira in a hotel room, reflecting on flashbacks of a thrilling night. From there, the narrative transitions into scenes that showcase her and her celebrity co-stars embarking on a wild adventure. The group is seen cruising in a car, heading to a casino where they take risks at the tables alongside music producer Bizarrap. In one of the more playful scenes, the group participates in a strip poker game, featuring a humorous cameo from Harry Jowsey, adding to the playful vibe of the video.
Aside from gambling and strip poker, the women are shown having a great time dancing in a nightclub, taking shots, and enjoying moments of relaxation in a pool and on a boat. The visual narrative of “Soltera” embodies the spirit of freedom, fun, and self-expression, aligned with Shakira’s current themes of independence. It’s a powerful celebration of womanhood and friendship, underscored by an energetic and catchy beat.
In an Instagram Live session on October 11, Shakira reunited with her co-stars Anitta, Danna, Lele Pons, and Natti Natasha to discuss the making of the music video and share their excitement with fans. Shakira expressed her gratitude to the women for participating and for their mutual support, emphasizing the importance of lifting each other up in the industry. She also shared that Anitta was the first to join the project, paving the way for the all-star cast of women.
The music video for “Soltera” was shot at various locations in Miami, including LIV Nightclub, where Shakira and her collaborators were spotted filming last month. The release of “Soltera” follows the success of her recent album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which has earned Shakira three nominations at the upcoming Latin Grammys, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for “(Entre Paréntesis)” featuring Grupo Frontera.
As Shakira continues to make waves with her latest releases, she is also preparing for the launch of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which kicks off on November 2 at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.
