Peso Pluma Leads 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards Finalists
The 2026 #Billboard Latin Music Awards are set to be a landmark event, with Peso Pluma leading the pack as the top finalist. With an impressive 17 entries, the global icon of Mexican music is competing for major honors, including Artist of the Year and Top Latin Album of the Year for DINASTÍA, his collaborative project with Tito Double P.
Following closely behind is Tito Double P, who secured 15 mentions, and the powerhouse group Fuerza Regida, who earned 12. Among the female finalists, Karol G leads the field with nine nominations, while Prince Royce and Bad Bunny follow with eight and seven, respectively.
A Celebration of Latin Music Excellence
The awards ceremony, scheduled to broadcast live on Telemundo on October 22, will recognize excellence across 47 categories, spanning genres such as Latin pop, tropical, Latin rhythm, and regional Mexican music. Beyond the competitive categories, the event will honor extraordinary contributions to the industry with special awards, including the Billboard Vanguard Award, the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award.
Peso Pluma’s dominance is further highlighted by his presence in multiple song categories. Tracks such as “daño,” “dopamina,” “chiclona,” and “7-3” have collectively earned nine mentions, including nominations for Global 200 Latin Song of the Year and Hot Latin Song of the Year. His collaborator, Tito Double P, is also enjoying a breakout year, competing for Artist of the Year and Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Solo.
Industry Impact and Global Reach
The finalists were determined based on performance data from Billboard’s charts between September 13, 2025, and September 5, 2026. This includes fan interactions such as streaming, digital sales, radio airplay, and touring, as tracked by Billboard and its data partner, Luminate.
The ceremony will take place at the James L. Knight Center in Miami and will be available on Telemundo, Peacock, and Universo, reaching audiences in more than 22 countries. The awards coincide with Billboard Latin Music Week, which returns to Miami Beach from October 19 to 22, featuring a star-studded program with appearances by Fuerza Regida, Maluma, Pitbull, and many more.
