Rosalía’s Coming to a City Near You on ‘MOTOMAMI’ World Tour

Rosalía is taking her third studio album, MOTOMAMI, across the globe during her first-ever world tour. The “SAOKO” singer announced today (April 18) that she’s embarking on the MOTOMAMI World Tour, starting in Almería, Spain, on July 6, with plans to perform in cities across her native country, Latin America, North America, and Europe.

Her latest album was well-received by critics receiving favorable reviews across various publications like Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, to name a few. Vulture’s Craig Jenkins called the album a “restless, puckish expression of exquisite taste.” Variety wrote in their review, “[MOTOMAMI] finds her delivering on all the promise and innovation that those releases suggested and plenty more as well, while still keeping the sound rooted in her stunning voice (and singing entirely in Spanish).”

Rosalía pushed boundaries on her new album, lyrically and sonically, to the shock of her fans and even the people she worked with. Among the surprises from her new project was the song “HENTAI,” produced by Pharrell Williams. In a TikTok Live, the two spoke about the making of the song, during which Rosalía explained the lyrics, and Williams realized he didn’t know exactly how explicit she was on the song.

MOTOMAMI shot to the top of Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart in the week ending April 2 and is credited as “debuting with the largest week of 2022 for a Latin pop album.” Her third album came three years after her second album, El Mal Querer, which earned the star four Latin Grammys and a “gringo” Grammy.

For the U.S., the first date is Sep. 15 in Boston, MA. General public tickets are set to go on sale starting Friday, April 22.
