Natanael Cano’s Record Label Joins Interscope – What It Means for Corridos Tumbados

Natanael Cano continues to push corridos tumbados into the mainstream. Today (Oct. 10), the Mexican superstar announced a partnership between his imprint Los CT and the iconic record label Interscope.

Interscope is one of the biggest labels in the world, boasting artists like BTS, Lady Gaga, Eminem, and Lana Del Rey on its roster. Now Natanael Cano is bringing the first corridos tumados acts to the label. The artists on his Los CT imprint, including Gabito Ballesteros, Alejandro Buelna, Tyan G, and Amillkar Galaviz, are now a part of the record label through an alliance deal. Cano’s other signees, Luis Castillo, Nueva Era, Cocho, Herencia LP, and Delilah, are joining Interscope as well. Cano and his manager Ramón Emilio Hernández launched Los CT records in 2022. Now the growing genre will have worldwide distribution with the backing of an industry giant.

“Nir [Seroussi], Manny [Prado] and the entire Interscope team are the perfect partners to collaborate with us creating the best possible opportunities for our artists,” Cano shared in a statement. “I am excited to work with the Interscope team to continue growing the CT movement.”

However, Cano himself is not signing with Interscope. He is signed by Rancho Humilde, which has a distribution deal with Warner Music Latina. The biggest star on Cano’s Los CT label is Ballesteros. Earlier this year, Ballesteros teamed up with Cano and Peso Pluma for the hit “AMG.” Their collaboration peaked at No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Becky G later enlisted Ballesteros to feature on “La Nena” from her música mexicana album Esquinas.

“We are so grateful that he and Emilio have brought these incredible artists to Interscope,” added Seroussi, executive vice president of Interscope. “We want to empower them by giving them all the tools they need to expand their audience and build long-term careers.”

In June, Karol G moved up within the Universal Music Group and signed with Interscope. Other Latine and Spanish acts on that record label include Ivan Cornejo, Kali Uchis, Bad Gyal, That Mexican OT, Robi, and Cuco.
