Lola Young Gets Personal With Her Recent Release “Ruin My Makeup”

The rising star, Lola Young has recently dropped the radio-ready song “Ruin My Makeup.” The song also has an accompanying music video. During the 2:49 minute production, Lola looks straight at the camera, while sharing her story. The lyrics are vibrant, catchy, and relatable. Lola’s alluring vocals additionally step up the project to the next level. 

Young talked about the song saying: “Ruin My Makeup” is a song I wrote about the duality of a person, well me,” explained Young in a statement. “I was in a place at the time where I was trying to figure out whether my confidence was hindered by my vulnerability. If I cry about you, it will only ruin my makeup. It’s a sad song at heart but it has elements of strength and power. It touches on my journey through life, struggling with acceptance whether that be through religion or friends or drugs or, most importantly, through love.”

The British rising star is a graduate from the prestigious Brit School, the school that Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Jessie J have graduated. Following her graduation, the 20-year-old star was signed to Capitol Records. 

Young already has 2 EPs under her belt, Intro, and Renaissance.
