Cardi B Breaks Another Billboard Record

Cardi B is on a roll. The rapper broke another record this week for longest-charting album on Billboard by a female rapper.

Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, has now spent 124 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. According to Rap-Up, she breaks the record set by rapper Nicki Minaj, who spent 123 weeks on the all-genre album chart with 2014’s The Pinkprint.

“It feels very good!” Cardi wrote in an Instagram post about her latest achievement. “Thank you guys for still supporting and listening to Invasion of Privacy. Working on my second album. It’s taking time, but I want to make sure I put [out] an amazing project.”

Cardi first released Invasion of Privacy back in April 2018. The album features two of her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles: “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Invasion is certified 3-times platinum in the United States.

Last week, Cardi became the first female rapper with a Hot 100 No. 1 hit in two different decades. That happened last week when her latest single “WAP” with rising hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion debuted at No. 1 on the chart. Overall, it’s Cardi’s fourth chart-topper, including the remix of Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.”

The anticipation for Cardi’s next album is running high. With “WAP” spending a second week at No. 1 on the chart this week, she’s heading into her next project with great momentum.
