Billie Eilish Wore A Massive Barbie-Inspired Ball Gown At the 2021 Met Gala

Billie Eilish just walked onto the Met steps and—I kid you not—I’ve been envisioning this moment all day long. Will she go oversized and masculine? Will she lean into the sexy pin-up vibe she debuted with her latest album? Will she keep her newly-blonde hair or unveil another wild style?

These questions have finally been answered and when I tell you my jaw DROPPED. The pop star embodied a modern Marilyn Monroe vibe in a sexy blush cupcake gown, complete with a bustier top and a massive tulle train (it literally takes five people to lift). According to Billie, the inspiration was her childhood Holiday Barbie.

Billie kept her glam Old Hollywood chic, with a peach lip, winged eye, and a ’90s blowout.

Though she usually keeps to the boyish, streetwear aesthetic, the singer admitted her new hyper-femme style is one she’s always wanted to try.

“It was time,” she told live stream host Keke Palmer. “I feel like I’ve grown so much in the past few years and I’ve always wanted to do this. I was just scared and I finally feel comfortable in my skin and it was just time.”
