Anitta Tops Billboard’s New Music Latin Poll with ‘Equilibrivm II’

Brazilian pop sensation Anitta has officially topped Billboard’s latest New Music Latin poll, published on July 24, with her ambitious new album, Equilibrivm II. The project, which has clearly resonated with her global fanbase, was voted the favorite music release of the week by Billboard readers.

Equilibrivm II is a sprawling, two-part collection featuring 32 tracks that showcase the artist’s versatility and deep connection to her roots. The album dominated the poll, securing more than 71% of the total vote. It outperformed several notable releases, including Ryan Castro’s “Que Te Vaya Bien,” the collaboration “Pa La Maña” by Natanael Cano and Gabito Ballesteros, and “Mi BB” by Lunay and Omar Courtz.

This latest project follows the 15-track Equilibrivm released earlier this April. On this new installment, Anitta leans heavily into her cultural identity, exploring themes of faith, ancestry, and personal growth. The soundscape is a vibrant tribute to Brazil, blending genres such as forró, funk, bossa nova, and samba, while featuring collaborations with prominent figures from the Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) scene.

“I poured my whole self into this album. Anyone who listens will realize that,” Anitta shared in a press statement. “These songs reflect so much of my spirituality, my worldview, the Brazilian elements that captivate me, and even touches on my own life story. Every choice — musical or visual — was made with intention. I am very proud of what we are delivering.”

Following Anitta’s decisive win, other fan favorites in this week’s poll included EMJAY’s “Moreno Fantasy” and Jessi Uribe’s “¿Qué Pasó Ayer?” As the Latin music landscape continues to evolve, Anitta remains a central figure, consistently pushing boundaries and bringing the sounds of Brazil to the forefront of the global stage.
