Fuerza Regida Launches ‘This Is Our Dream’ Stadium Tour with Electrifying San Diego Debut
From a Michael Jackson-inspired opening to Back to the Future-coded visuals, surprise guests, and a closing stretch that brought the show full circle, Fuerza Regida launched their first-ever U.S. stadium trek with a performance built on memory, ambition, and sheer force.
When Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP) and his crew opened their This Is Our Dream Stadium Tour at San Diego’s Petco Park on Thursday night (June 18), the San Bernardino band unveiled the most fully realized live production of their career on the biggest domestic stage they’ve played to date. Over the last several years, the group has pushed corridos into a more elastic, commercially dominant, and visually ambitious space. In front of approximately 44,000 fans, that evolution came into focus in a show designed as much to trace their rise as to celebrate it.
A Theatrical Origin Story
Framed by a Back to the Future-inspired concept, the production moved through the group’s past, present, and future with a black pickup-truck take on the DeLorean, archival footage, family skits, and fashion-forward flourishes. The show transformed a catalog-driven concert into something closer to a live origin story, leaving room for the unapologetic attitude that defines the band’s music.
The setlist traced their trajectory, moving from early breakout records like “Radicamos en South Central” and “Sigo Chambeando” through the songs that expanded their reach, including “CH y La Pizza,” “Bebe Dame,” “TQM,” “Harley Quinn,” and “Qué Onda,” before arriving at newer material from their 111XPANTIA album.
Star-Studded Collaborations and Local Pride
The band treated the stadium debut as a celebration of their community. Guests were folded into the show with precision, amplifying different facets of the band’s identity. Diego Millán of Calle 24 joined the group for an emotionally resonant performance of “Qué Está Pasando,” while Marshmello’s appearance for “Harley Quinn” underscored the group’s natural crossover appeal. The night also featured a high-energy appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, which injected the show with a burst of local San Diego pride.
Looking Toward the Future
By the time the band reached the final stretch, the production had shifted into something more symbolic. With Aztec dancers and the album’s all-seeing eye projected across the screens, the performance moved beyond simple nostalgia. As the show concluded with the return of the pickup-truck DeLorean and a final performance of “Marlboro Rojo,” it was clear that while Fuerza Regida has embraced stadium-scale spectacle, they remain firmly rooted in the corridos tradition that built their foundation.
