Jombriel Dominates at Ecuador’s 2026 Premios REM: Full Winners List
Glitz and glamour filled Guayaquil’s Sanchez Aguilar Theatre on Wednesday night as the music industry gathered to celebrate the fifth annual Premios REM de Sayce. The ceremony served as a high-profile showcase for Ecuador’s rapidly expanding music market, honoring the artists, composers, and songs that defined the year.
Jombriel, the breakout star from Esmeraldas, solidified his status as a force in #LatinMusic by taking home four major awards. His haul included the prestigious Composer of the Year and Song of the Year for his hit “Vitamina,” a collaboration with DFZM and Jotta. The track’s success has been nothing short of global, having previously earned a spot on Barack Obama’s Favorite Music of 2025 list.
A Night of Recognition and Growth
During his acceptance speech, Jombriel remained humble, crediting his success to his faith, his team, and his family. “I am grateful to God, my team, and my family,” he shared. “I dedicate this to my son because I became a father in December. Cheers to being single!”
The Premios REM (Ranking Ecuatoriano de la Música) are presented by the Society of Authors and Composers of Ecuador (SAYCE). Winners are determined by local charts and data monitored by the Spanish music operating system BMAT, which tracks radio, television, and streaming consumption. Juan Fernando Velasco, president of SAYCE and a Latin Grammy-nominated artist, emphasized the importance of these accolades.
“These are Ecuador’s most prestigious awards—the awards honoring the most-listened-to artists in the country,” Velasco told Billboard. “We have been growing steadily over the past five years, successfully positioning these awards as the most significant element within Ecuador’s music industry, as well as an inspirational brand. This plays a fundamental role in the industry; these awards provide not only recognition but also validation and exposure.”
