Rauw Alejandro to Perform at 2022 Billboard Music Awards
Rauw Alejandro is getting his well-deserved moment in the primetime spotlight! The “CAPRICHOSO” singer was announced today (April 19) as a performer at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. He joins a roster of superstars for this year’s ceremony, including Megan Thee Stallion, Burnaby Boy, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. This will be the singer’s first time performing at the awards ceremony.
Rauw is not only performing at the Billboard Music Awards, but he is also nominated for four awards at the ceremony this year: Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist, Top Latin Album for his latest album VICE VERSA, and Top Latin Song for his ‘80s inspired banger, “Todo De Ti.”
The “2/Catorce” singer made headlines earlier this week after (finally) announcing his cryptically teased surprise collaboration with the multihyphenate Colombian icon, Shakira. Their song, “Te Felicito,” is set to release on April 22, and the futuristic vibe of the track promises another stellar hit for both artists.
Rauw is known for giving performances that are unforgettable and uniquely inspiring. His “MUSEO / Desesperados” performance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon was a perfect example of this — a flowering wonderland with his artistic prowess on full display. Putting Rauw in a prime time slot for all audiences to enjoy his talent is long overdue.
The BBMA audience is in for the time of their lives when he hits the stage, no doubt lighting up the arena with a stellar rendition of his musical catalog. Will he perform his hit “Todo De Ti” or go with something newer like “MUSEO?”
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 15 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. The show will be available to watch on NBC and stream live on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.
