12 Fashionable Looks Becky G. Gave Us Over Last Year to Cure Our Pandemic Blues

Today is the 24th birthday of musician Becky G, and what better way to spend it than launching a brand-new clothing line?

On Tuesday morning (March 2), the Mexican American singer and U.K.-based fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing revealed the styles that will be a part of the PLT x Becky G collection.

“I’ve never considered myself to just be a singer or just be one thing,” Becky G said on today’s PLT podcast Behind Closed Doors. “To me, I’m a creative being and wherever the wind takes me, I just kind of go. If it’s through music, it’s through music. If it’s through fashion, it’s through fashion.”

Becky G said she wanted to work with PLT because when it comes to her fashion, she likes to keep things “balanced,” whether she’s wearing a stunning dress or her tracksuit and sneakers.

“I always appreciated the versatility of PrettyLittleThing,” she said. “I always wanted to have that class, that sass, that style. To me, fashion has always been one of my favorite ways to express my mood.”

In the past, the company has collaborated with other celebrities, including reality star Kourtney Kardashian, rapper Lil Kim and model Hailey Baldwin.

As Becky G continues her journey to become a fashion icon, we thought we’d take a look at some of the outfits she’s sported over the last year. If you can look as good as her during a pandemic, you’re probably doing something right.

We’ll start with this v-neck dress with a flower pattern that Becky wore outside in her backyard. It was March 31, 2020, so we’re guessing she didn’t realize yet how much time she’d probably be spending in the backyard over the next 12 months.

Her “Heaven Ain’t Real” shirt showing off her midriff might rub believers the wrong way, but Becky G pulls it off as she poses with the Mexican flag.

This shirt Becky wore in August 2020 was sold for the benefit of the people of Beirut after an explosion at a port killed over 200 people.

In late September 2020, Becky was making sure to encourage people to vote across her social media platforms. How can you explain the importance of voting without wearing a “Vote” hair barrette?
