WATCH: Snoop Dogg Goes Full-On Tío Singing Vicente Fernández

Snoop Dogg was in full tío mode this past weekend, and we can’t get enough of it. It’s no secret that Snoop is a massive lover of Mexican music — banda and ranchera in particular — so catching the West Coast rap star sing along to “El Rey” by Vicente Fernández is what makes him so memorable.

At an event hosted by Gogalamusic and Death Row Records on Sep. 3, Snoop is seen with fellow West Coast legends like Warren G rapping to the crowd on a small stage in the streets of Los Angeles, CA. Then, suddenly, the rapper breaks into “El Rey,” the 1974 classic that’s exceptionally known by Latines worldwide. Complex News via Instagram posted the video of Snoop singing with hands in the air as he lip-sings the words with a grin.

Latine fans had a frenzy in the comments over the video, with one declaring, “Snoop always invited to the carne asada.” Another saying, “SNOOPIE MARIACHI,” and truthfully, we couldn’t agree more.

Snoop has always been known for teaming up with other Latine artists. However, with collaborations such as the smash hit Qué Maldición” featuring Banda MS, to even making an appearance at the group’s show in Los Angeles in Feb. by paying another tribute to Fernández by DJ’ing one of his tracks, it’s clear Snoop’s appreciation for the culture is heavy.

That said, one thing is inevitable about the West Coast prodigy: Snoop Dogg is permanently invited to the carne asada, hopefully soon.
