WATCH: Rosalía Kicks Off Tour With Cover of La Factoría’s ‘Perdóname’
Rosalía officially kicked off her Motomami Tour last night (July 6) in Almería, Spain. In addition to performing her hits, the Spanish pop star also sang a La Factoría classic. She also performed brand new songs as well.
Rosalía emerged in a biker outfit with a schoolgirl style reminiscent of Britney Spears in “…Baby One More Time” and Gogo Yubari in Kill Bill. For the first show of the tour, she went all out and performed 30 songs. A surprising inclusion on the setlist was her cover of La Factoría and Eddy Lover’s “Perdóname.” She sounded incredible singing the reggaeton classic with her emotive voice.
Rosalía also debuted three new songs live for the first time. Among the new tracks performed were a mambo-inspired number called “Lao a Lao,” “Aislamiento,” and “Dinero y Libertad.” The title of the last song gives off strong Lana Del Rey vibes. Before singing the new songs, Rosalía told the audience that she promised them she would be releasing them soon.
During her mash-up of “TKN” and “Yo x Ti, Tú x Mi,” Rosalía blended more elements of reggaeton into her show. The mash-up included samples of Daddy Yankee’s “Gasolina” and “Papi Chulo” by Panamanian singer Lorna. This gave her a chance to perrear a bit during the concert.
Rosalía also made sure to perform her fierce guest verse from Sech’s “Relación” remix. She also sang her part from The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” remix. With the unfortunate absence of her queer anthem “Aute Cuture,” she could’ve swapped out “Blinding Lights” for this song instead. Many fans appeared to agree on Twitter that “Aute Cuture,” “A Palé,” and “Di Mi Nombre” deserved to be on the setlist.
Rosalía’s Motomami Tour touches down in the U.S. in Sep. Here’s to hoping she adds “Aute Cuture” to the setlist by then.
