WATCH: Maluma & Carin León Share Tequila Shots in “Según Quién” Music Video

Maluma is getting into the banda music groove with Carin León. The Colombian superstar teamed up with León for his boozy “Según Quién” music video released last night (August 17).

“Según Quién” is the latest single from Maluma’s upcoming album Don Juan. He explored diverse genres with his previous singles, teaming up with Marc Anthony for the salsa-infused “La Fórmula” and Anuel AA for the reggaeton track “Diablo, Qué Chimba.” He also dabbled in Afrobeats influences in “Coco Loco.” Now, Maluma is taking on regional Mexican music with León.

“Scorned Maluma is back with my parcero Carin,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.

Maluma co-wrote “Según Quién” with Leon and a hit-maker team, including the song’s producer Edgar Barrera and Kevyn “Keityn” Cruz Moreno. Barrera seamlessly blends banda music that León is known for with elements of trap and pop. Maluma and León sing their hearts out about moving on for good from their exes. This unexpected duo complements each other well in Maluma’s música Mexicana kiss-off anthem.

Maluma’s Royalty Films produced the “Según Quién” music video. He also co-directed it with Cesar “Tes” Pimienta in Nashville, TN. In the video, Maluma and León meet at a bar and share tequila shots together. As they reminisce about their exes, they have fun and get drunk together in the process.

Maluma’s fans seem excited about this new track with the regional Mexican music star. “I didn’t know I needed a Maluma collaboration with Carin Leon until they announced it,” one person wrote in Spanish on Twitter. “Carin León and Maluma made a song together, and it’s beautiful,” added another person.

Maluma’s Don Juan album will release on August 25. A few days later, he will kick off his Don Juan World Tour on August 31 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA.
