Subtronics & REZZ Bring On Phantogram For Elevated Version Of “Black Ice”
Although we’re only a few months into 2024, Subtronics’ TESSERACT is going to go down as one of the best albums of the year. Now fresh off his album release tour, Subtronics is kind enough to gift us a new version of one the lead singles from TESSERACT in the REZZ collab “Black Ice.” Only this time with the iconic Phantogram to bring some stellar vocals to the track.
Driving on black ice is dangerous and the term gives off a dark and threatening tone. The track, although not literally dangerous, gives off that vibe with its haunting melodies and heavy bass accents. Phantogram provides some interpretation to what we already know was a nasty track. Phantogram makes the track a song of heartbreak lyrically singing, “Beggin on my knees on black ice. Everytime you leave I’m caving into darkness.” The track was already a banger before but with Phantogram’s addition it’s on a whole new level.
