Shakira Set to Light Up Copa América 2024 Halftime with Stellar Performance
Shakira is set to take the stage at the Copa América final on Sunday, July 14, as announced by CONMEBOL this past Tuesday. This marks the first time the renowned Colombian singer will perform at the oldest national soccer tournament. Her halftime show is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, which is expected to host around 54,000 spectators.
Alejandro Domínguez, president of CONMEBOL, expressed his enthusiasm about Shakira‘s participation. He stated, “Shakira is a remarkable South American talent who has captivated audiences worldwide. Her music transcends geographical boundaries and is celebrated by millions globally. We believe her presence will amplify the event’s themes of enthusiasm and solidarity through sports.”
The Copa América USA 2024, which kicked off on June 20 and concludes on July 14, features 16 teams from CONMEBOL and CONCACAF. Shakira, who has previously dazzled audiences at the Super Bowl and three FIFA World Cups, will perform a combination of her well-known hits and recent tracks.
Following the March release of her 12th studio album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” which reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the Top Albums Sales chart, Shakira recently entertained over 40,000 fans with a spontaneous show at Times Square on the TSX stage.
