Rising Mexican Act Eslabon Armado Close Out 2020 With An Emo Album

Rising Mexican act Eslabon Armado are closing out the year with a new album. The trio dropped their new album Corta Venas today (Dec. 18).

This year was a breakthrough year for Eslabon Armado. The three Mexican teens, that the band is comprised of,  released their first album Tu Veneno Mortal and the follow-up Vibras del Noche all within this year. Both albums have spent multiple weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart.

As an early Christmas present to fans, Armado’s Corta Venas album is their most lengthy yet with a whopping 24 tracks. For the first time, the trio teams up with another artist, rising singer DannyLux, on the dreamy track “Jugaste y Sufrí.”

As the album’s title suggests, Corta Venas is the closest to emo regional Mexican music that you can get. Eslabon Armado revived the campirano Sierreño sound that was popularized by the late Ariel Camacho. He was the one that helped Del Records become a viable force in the Mexican music market. Now Eslabon Armado is carrying the torch.

With the release of the Corta Venas, Eslabon Armado also premiered the music video for “Ando Más Que Mal.” Lead singer Pedro Tovar recounts a puppy love romance that has gone awry in the heartbreaking visual.

On the year-end charts, Billboard ranked Eslabon Armado as the top-selling Latin duo/group of 2020, ahead of Aventura, Banda MS, Los Dos Carnales and Fuerza Regida. With Cortas Venas, the trio goes head-to-head with Las 3 Torres, the new joint album by Rancho Humilde’s top three stars, Natanael Cano, Junior H and Ovi.
