Pedro Pascal Twerks Ahead of His ‘SNL’ Episode – & The Internet is Going Crazy
It’s been said by many that preparing for an episode of Saturday Night Live is an intense experience because of how little time there is between shows. But that doesn’t mean that the cast and guest hosts can’t have some downtime to relax and unwind – and dance like no one is watching. Cue Pedro Pascal and his twerking skills.
In a fun, short teaser video for this weekend’s episode, Pascal, who is hosting, is recorded showing off his best dance moves right beside a clicker from his hit HBO series The Last of Us. Luckily, it seems like Pascal and the clicker are on friendly terms since The Mandalorian star almost killed him in a prior promo.
In this sequence, Pascal and the clicker are shaking their backsides to Latto’s 2022 song “Big Energy.” The lyrics to the song include, “Hey daddy, when you gon’ stop playing?” Pascal, of course, has become the internet’s “daddy” over the last few years, so the song fits perfectly.
As much as “Big Energy” works with Pascal’s dancing abilities, he’s so good at twerking, it’s tough to find a song that doesn’t match his moves. Replace “Big Energy” with, say, Cardi B’s 2021 single “Up,” and you’ll be asking Pascal to come out to the club with you.
Need something a bit more laid-back? Heck, the video even works if you play the theme song from The Last of Us by two-time Oscar-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla (Babel).
Some people wondered if maybe the dance was the clickers’ mating ritual.
Others pointed out that if Joel and a clicker can get along, the world can truly be a better place.
Now, all we need is a cameo from Pascal’s BFF Oscar Isaac during this weekend’s episode (twerking, too, perhaps?), and we can call this a real party.
Tune in to SNL on February 4 at 11:30 p.m. EST with Pedro Pascal as host and Coldplay as musical guest.
