Paulo Londra Announces His First New Song in 3 Years

After letting the big industry players break the news that he’s back, Paulo Londra is again in full command of his music career. The Argentinian trap superstar, who made headlines this month after signing a deal with Warner Music Latina — and thus putting an end to a two-year forced silence — has just announced that his next song, “Plan A,” will drop on Spotify on March 23.

Londra took to Twitter to address his fans and his future: “After three years, I’ll be back in two days with a song called ‘Plan A,’” he wrote. “Thank you to each one that kept listening in the bad times because the good times are coming,” he signed off.

In 2018, Londra was the most listened to Argentinian artist on Spotify, reaching No. 149 in the global ranking. The five countries that stream his music the most on that platform are Mexico, Argentina, Spain, the U.S., and Chile.

It’ll be the first song by Londra since 2019, the year he released his debut album Homerun, accrued nominations, collaborated with Ed Sheeran, and topped the bill on different festivals. But by the end of that year, Londra’s career halted unexpectedly. Londra found himself in a legal conflict with his former business partners, Ovy on the Drums and Kristoman. The legal battle meant that the rapper behind the global hit “Adan y Eva” had opted out from releasing any new music ever since. But, after settling the dispute amicably in November 2021, the hiatus came to an official end when Warner Music Latina confirmed they had signed a deal with him.

Speculation that Londra would release music soon had soared these days, but not even the most optimistic fan would have gambled such a quick return. The chosen date — March 23 — might have something to do with Londra’s long-standing love for basketball. The teaser video for “Plan A” even includes footage of the rapper attacking the basket. Londra has long identified with Michael Jordan, the basketball legend who wore the number 23 jersey.

“Plan A” brings good news on two scenarios: firstly, Londra will effectively release new music, and secondly, he won’t be silent anymore. He’s letting his fans know about his new material and talking about a bright new future. His tweet might mark, officially, #PauloIsBack.
