Monsta X Talks Latine Collabs & Where They Want To Tour Next in Latin America
Dominican Bachata superstar Romeo Santos is making a big return to the music industry this year. On Feb. 8, Santos uploaded a video to his Instagram, teasing the announcement of a new album — the third installment of his Formula series: Formula Vol. 3.
Santos has been a staple in Latine culture for over two decades with his start as a bachatero in the widely-popular group Aventura. After the group disbanded (the second time around), Santos began releasing solo music to commercial and critical acclaim. His first album, Formula Vol. 1, shot straight to the top of Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and Top Tropical Albums charts in the U.S. It also received three platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. Formula Vol. 2 saw features by the biggest names in music from Drake and Nicki Minaj to Marc Anthony and Carlos Santana, while also claiming the title of the best-selling Latin album of 2014.
Well, the self-proclaimed King of Bachata is finally gearing up for round three. In the teaser video he posted, viewers got a glimpse of his son, Valentino, as he runs through a mansion, trying to find his dad. Santos is seen laying in bed as his son hands him a hard drive. The scene switches to show Santos opening two doors as a sneak peek of his new song plays in the background. The singer is adorned in an oversized-red fur coat with a gold chain and sunglasses.
Social media users are ecstatic about Santos’ return to music. Following his second Formula album, he released two albums — Golden and Utopia. It seems as though people were waiting for this third part to the Formula series and the reaction online shows as such. “CAN’T FUCKING WAIT!!” one person wrote in the comments section of the Instagram post. Alex Sensation — long-time collaborator with Santos — built up the hype, commenting Santo’s signature tag line, “Let me find out.” On Twitter, users were equally as excited: “Best news to wake up to is that Romeo Santos is gearing up to drop, Formula Vol. III, been waiting on that,” a Twitter user wrote.
A release date nor a tracklist have been released yet, but we’re hoping he’ll announce that soon!
