Longboat Returns with Igor Keller’s Daring New Album

Longboat, a creative project by Igor Keller, is back with The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket, a new album, released on October 31. With 12 songs in total, each track captures a unique piece of Keller’s creative identity.

The opening track for the album is Monster Zero inspired by the Godzilla films.

Across its 12 tracks, The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket offers the listener genres such as jazz, pop, and electronic. Songs like Fashionism,” “Got Away,” St. Suburbia,” and many more, showcase Keller’s talent for combining catchy melodies with thought-provoking commentary.

Each track feels like a chapter in a larger story. It’s a continuation of Keller’s narrative-driven songwriting from his previous project, Word Gets Around. But with The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket, he leans further into sci-fi themes.

That twist runs through the album, bringing new energy to the Longboat sound while staying true to the message and sound Keller wants to deliver through his experimentations.

One of the standout creative choices on this record is Keller’s use of the vocoder — a first in his long career.

“At first, it was intimidating, but once you learn how to use it wisely, it brings something that feels both new and strangely familiar,” he shares.

This new layer of sound gives the album a fresh feel, enriching his vocals and complementing Longboat’s evolving style.

With The Merry Blacksmith’s Song Bucket, Keller continues to build his reputation as one of modern music industry’s most daring voices — one who never stops experimenting, questioning, and pushing the boundaries of what pop can be.

For listeners looking for something smart, unpredictable, and musically rich, this Longboat album is a reminder that Igor Keller’s creative spark is as strong as ever.
