Lil Jon Surprises Crowd at Daddy Yankee’s Atlanta Concert
Daddy Yankee brought out Lil Jon as a special guest on his La Ultima Vuelta Tour. The Puerto Rican legend reunited with the King of Crunk on Aug. 23 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Lil Jon was Yankee’s special guest for his concert in Atlanta last night. This reunion was extra special because it took place on his home turf. In addition to appearing on the screen like at all Daddy Yankee shows, Lil Jon surprised the fans in Atlanta when he joined him onstage. He came out proudly rocking an Atlanta Braves baseball jersey. The two artists had the arena moving while performing “Bombón” together.
The duo first collaborated all the way back in 2004. The King of Reggaeton jumped on the Latine remix of Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz’s “What U Gon’ Do” alongside Pitbull. A year later, they all reunited for the “Gasolina (Dj Buddah Remix),” along with Noriega. Decades later, the “Turn Down For What” rapper appeared on Daddy Yankee’s last album, Legendaddy, earlier this year. He features on “Bombón” with El Alfa.
But ATL wasn’t their only reunion this weekend. Lil Jon was also a special guest during Daddy Yankee’s set at Baja Beach Fest in Rosarito, Mexico. About that reunion on stage, the rapper wrote a simple “thank you” to Daddy Yankee in an Instagram post.
Fans were excited to see Daddy Yankee bring out Lil Jon for the Atlanta concert. One fan on Twitter wrote, “Daddy Yankee brought out Lil Jon.” Another fan echoed the sentiment with crying emojis, writing, “Daddy Yankee really brought out Lil Jon.”
Daddy Yankee’s La Ultima Vuelta Tour is his last tour before he goes on retirement. He performed an incredible five-show run at the Forum in Inglewood, CA, to make sure to say goodbye to all his L.A. fans. Next month, Daddy Yankee will be honored with the Legend Award at the Hispanic Heritage Awards.
