Karol G Is Headlining Calibash – One of Her Few Live Performances of 2023

On Oct. 24, Calibash 2023 announced their star headliner, Karol G – demonstrating yet again that the Colombian pop star is at the prime of her music career. The 16th annual festival will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA, on Jan. 21 and 22.

Following her successful solo arena tour, Karol G will now be part of the festival’s star-studded lineup. On Saturday (Jan. 21), the lineup includes Ozuna, Myke Towers, Arcángel, Ivy Queen, Jhayco, and Nio García. On Sunday (Jan. 22), the lineup stars Karol G with Farruko, Zion y Lennox, Becky G, Sech, and Feid. The headliner for Sat. is undetermined – although Billboard previously announced Rosalía was part of next year’s roster. Could it be that she will be confirmed after her current tour?

Without a doubt, Karol G is one of the most popular Latina artists of the moment. Her track “PROVENZA” landed at No. 3 on VEVO’s biggest music videos mid-year list. The song also came at No. 11 on Spotify’s most-streamed songs of the summer. It also reached No. 6 on YouTube’s top 10. U.S. songs and top 10 global songs.

As for Calibash, this is one of Karol’s only live performances of 2023. During an L.A. performance last weekend, she revealed that she wouldn’t be touring next year. As of now, it appears that she will only be doing selected music festivals, plus a show in Puerto Rico.

Who else will headline with La Bichota? While we don’t have a confirmed answer yet, we know that each festival date will have seven performers – a change from the event’s early years.

“I thought the audience would be OK with there being less acts but more quality sets. I thought if we could edit this down and give the headliners half hour, 45 minutes, I think people would be stoked to see that. And I’m happy to say I was right,” the president of SBS Entertainment, Alessandra Alarcón, said per Billboard.
