Jhayco’s “Cuerpecito” Gets Futuristic Video Treatment with VR Journey
Jhayco has released his latest single, “Cuerpecito,” marking the next chapter of his Vida Rockstar era. The reggaeton dance floor anthem pays homage to women’s bodies through its lyrics and is out now (Mar. 31). The music video, directed by NAVS, takes place in a futuristic world where Jhayco and his love interest hook themselves up to a virtual reality machine. The couple uses VR technology to reminisce and create new memories together, taking cues from the movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” In their cyber world, they go from a boozy night out in the club to doing karaoke in a private booth before catching a sunrise.
The high-fashion clip features the rapper donning luxury brand streetwear from Givenchy, Stussy, Ernest Baker, and AP Milan, among others. The video takes viewers on a journey through a technologically advanced world that feels both foreign and relatable, thanks to its futuristic yet romantic elements.
Jhayco has been making significant strides lately, with his single “Sensual Bebé” soaring to the Top 10 of the U.S. Latin Airplay chart. He kicked off his U.S. tour shortly after, performing in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. In Oct., Jhayco released another hit single, “En La De Ella,” featuring Sech and Feid, which quickly went viral and crossed over 25 million views on YouTube. The remix of Jhayco’s mega-hit “No Me Conoce” featuring Bad Bunny and J. Balvin recently reached 2 billion streams on YouTube.
This summer, the Puerto Rican rapper is set to perform a string of shows in Mexico, from Guadalajara to Monterey. With his recent chart success and more Vida Rockstar cuts possibly on the way, 2023 is shaping up to be Jhayco’s best year yet. Fans of his music and the reggaeton genre will undoubtedly look forward to seeing what Jhayco has in store for the future.
