It’s Not Too Late to Experience Vogue’s Forces of Fashion
This year has presented many challenges, but the 2020 Vogue Forces of Fashion summit went off without a hitch. At the two-day-long virtual conference, top designers, editors, models, and more gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities present in today’s fashion industry. Although the closing remarks have already been delivered by Vogue’s Chloe Malle, you can still watch the talks online through December 8.
Over the course of the summit, Alber Elbaz revealed the name of his highly anticipated label as well as some insights into the brand’s identity. Naomi Campbell, who was on the November cover of Vogue, opened up about her family life and what it was like to grow up in London with British-Ghanaian journalist and former international human rights barrister Afua Hirsch. Chris Benjamin, Head of the Jeep®, Chrysler, and Advanced Interior Design, spoke with designer Joseph Altuzarra and Chloe Malle about how two designers from very different industries find common ground. Victoria Beckham and Sienna Miller talked about Beckham’s makeup line, Monogram Luxury Appliances hosted a snack break with Zac Posen, and Vogue’s Tonne Goodman, along with the Apparel Impact Institute’s president and CEO Lewis Perkins and designer and activist Domenica Leibowitz, talked about the opportunities—and the challenges—of sustainable production.
If you haven’t had the chance yet to see the “About Time” exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or if you have and are interested in learning more, curator Andrew Bolton and Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquière discussed how the show came together and its themes. Twice, we were treated to a first look at GucciFest. Gucci premiered the first two episodes of “Ouverture of Something That Never Ended,” a seven-episode miniseries directed by Alessandro Michele and Gus Van Sant, followed by an exclusive interview with the directors and Vogue’s Nicole Phelps.
The on-demand recordings of all 20 events are available with purchase at the Forces of Fashion website now through December 8.
Vogue Forces of Fashion is presented by Wagoneer and supported by Monogram Luxury Appliances with contributing partner, Apparel Impact Institute and a Forces of Fashion first look by Gucci.
