Gloria Trevi and Lola Índigo Named Honorees for Billboard Latin Women in Music 2026

Celebrating Excellence in Latin Music

Billboard and Telemundo have officially announced that Mexican superstar Gloria Trevi and Spanish pop innovator Lola Índigo will be among the distinguished honorees at the fourth annual Billboard Latin Women in Music special. The event, which celebrates the influential female artists driving meaningful change and championing inclusion within the music industry, is set to broadcast live on April 23 at 9 p.m. ET.

The two-hour gala will be available to viewers exclusively on Telemundo, with additional streaming options on Peacock and the Telemundo app. Trevi and Índigo join a previously announced lineup of honorees that includes Becky G, Ivy Queen, Joy, Julieta Venegas, and Young Miko.

Gloria Trevi: A Lifetime of Achievement

The legendary Gloria Trevi is slated to receive the Lifetime Achievement award. This honor recognizes a career defined by pivotal moments, major commercial achievements, and an enduring connection with audiences across generations. Over several decades, the Mexican icon has built a body of work that resonates globally, consistently performing on international stages while maintaining a fiercely devoted fanbase.

Trevi’s chart history is equally impressive, with a dozen entries on the Hot Latin Songs chart, including classics like “Cinco Minutos” and “Pelo Suelto.” Her success extends to the Top Latin Albums chart, where she has secured four No. 1 albums, including Gloria (2011) and Versus (2017). Reflecting on the honor, Trevi stated, “At this moment in my life, receiving this recognition fills me with strength and gratitude. Hate is defeated with love, and music is something I love.”

Lola Índigo: The Evolution of an Artist

Lola Índigo will be presented with the Evolution award, a title that highlights an artist whose career is marked by continuous growth and creative transformation. Since her emergence on the reality series Operación Triunfo, she has established herself as a bold force in Spanish pop. Her journey is characterized by a willingness to reinvent her sound while remaining true to her artistic essence.

Her impact on the charts has been significant, notably achieving a top 10 hit on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 with her collaboration on Maria Becerra‘s “High.” As the industry prepares for the 2026 ceremony, the inclusion of these artists underscores the diverse and evolving landscape of #LatinMusic.

A Platform for Inclusion

The Billboard Latin Women in Music special remains the only annual televised gala dedicated to celebrating the women who are fostering greater inclusion in the industry. As the event enters its fourth year, it continues to serve as a powerful platform for camaraderie and artistic recognition. With the 2026 Woman of the Year still to be announced, anticipation for the upcoming broadcast continues to build.
