Colman Domingo Hosting New Travel Series — Here’s Everything We Know
Colman Domingo is the most recent Latine actor taking the reins of a new travel show. The Fear the Walking Dead star has been tapped to host You Are Here, a travel series for AMC.
Produced by ZeroPointZero, the same company that made the late Anthony Bourdain’s series Parts Unknown, Domingo’s new show is being described as a travel/memoir show where the actor will visit the cities of Savannah, Philadelphia, New York, and Chicago during its debut season.
Domingo wrote about the new series on Instagram Monday (April 17) and along with posting a photo of a clapboard from the set. “You know we work on s–t quietly until we are ready to share over here…” he said. “The first season is scheduled to premiere across AMC, Sundance TV, IFC and WE TV starting on Juneteenth.”
Domingo’s You Are Here is coming on the heels of two other Latine-led travel series: Eva Longoria’s Searching for Mexico for CNN and John Leguizamo’s Leguizamo Does America for MSNBC. In Searching for Mexico, which premiered late last month, Longoria explores her Mexican roots through traditional flavors and dishes. In Leguizamo Does America, the Violent Night star travels across the U.S. to celebrate Latine history, culture, food, and people.
You Are Here will be the second series that Domingo has hosted for AMC. The first, Bottomless Brunch at Colman’s, was a series featuring Colman inviting friends for a cocktail and meal. Since the show began during the pandemic, all the interactions were virtual.
Later this year, Colman Domingo will be seen in three feature films: Drive-Away Dolls, the remake The Color Purple, and the biopic Rustin.
