Chencho Corleone Ignites the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards with ‘Lo Caro y Lo Bueno’ Performance
Chencho Corleone delivered a captivating performance at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which aired on Sunday (Oct. 20) via Telemundo. The Puerto Rican star took center stage after performances by big names like Fuerza Regida, Pepe Aguilar, Gloria Trevi, and Maria Becerra. Corleone brought his signature urban-cumbia fusion to life with a powerful rendition of his hit “Lo Caro y Lo Bueno.”
Dressed in an oversized buttoned shirt, matching trousers, and large sunglasses, Corleone delivered the song alongside a troupe of sensual dancers. His smooth vocals filled the arena as he sang lyrics that praised an independent woman who enjoys the finer things in life: “She likes the expensive and the good / she likes the party, the rumba, and rakata.” The vibrant performance perfectly showcased the unique blend of urban beats and cumbia influences that “Lo Caro y Lo Bueno” is known for.
The song is part of Corleone’s debut solo album SOLO, released five years after he parted ways with Plan B, the popular reggaetón duo from the early 2000s. SOLO features 18 tracks that stay true to Corleone’s signature futuristic perreo style, with hits like “Menta,” “Good Times,” and “District.” While the album embraces the reggaetón rhythms that fans love, Corleone also experiments with different genres, including electronic beats on “Himalaya” and the cumbia twist in “Lo Caro y Lo Bueno.”
