Erick Brian has officially topped Billboard’s #LatinMusic poll, which was published on July 31, following the release of his latest single, “Efímero.” The track, a vibrant collaboration with Dale Pututi and Nesty, has resonated deeply with listeners, earning the title of favorite music release of the week.

“Efímero,” which translates to “ephemeral,” explores the complexities of a brief, mismatched relationship. The song is anchored by the distinct sound of reparto music—a burgeoning Cuban movement that masterfully fuses urban rhythms with traditional timba, son, and rumba, all driven by the rhythmic foundation of the wooden clave.

For Erick Brian, formerly a member of the global sensation CNCO, this project represents a significant artistic evolution. Having previously established his solo career through R&B and Afrobeats, the singer describes this new single as a deeply personal endeavor. “It is incredibly personal because it allowed me to reconnect with my Cuban roots while exploring a completely new sound,” he noted in a recent press statement.

The collaboration came together with a sense of organic synergy. Artist and producer Dale Pututi shared that the connection was sparked by mutual admiration. “He’s actually a fan of one of our songs called ‘Maridon,’” Pututi explained. “That’s when we reached out and invited him to the studio, and the song happened organically. For us, it was really special because it’s the first reparto track he’s released, and we represent the more commercial side of the genre—trying to make it as international as possible so it resonates globally.”
