J Balvin Launches ‘Chimba’ Erewhon Smoothie to Celebrate World Cup
J Balvin now has his own Erewhon smoothie, and it looks like the Colombian flag in a cup. Balvin’s “Chimba de Smoothie” makes the artist one of three Latinos, and the second Colombian, to collaborate with the luxury grocery retailer on a limited-edition flavor, following previous partnerships with Becky G and Kali Uchis.
Chimba is a popular slang term from the artist’s native city, Medellin, which loosely translates to “awesome.” The drink is crafted with the colors of La Tricolor—the nickname for the Colombian national soccer team—featuring distinct layers of yellow, blue, and red. The launch is timed to support the Colombian team’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and celebrates the reggaeton superstar’s recent performance at the tournament’s Opening Ceremony in Mexico.

The collaboration was announced via a vibrant social media campaign, showing the “Mi Gente” singer preparing the smoothie himself, starting with a red raspberry base. The drink is currently available at Erewhon locations in Los Angeles and New York City.
Beyond the flavor, there is a significant philanthropic component to the partnership. A portion of the proceeds from the smoothie sales will benefit the Vibra en Alta Foundation, Balvin’s charity dedicated to providing educational and creative opportunities for youth in underserved neighborhoods across Colombia.
