Nanpa Básico, Thalia & More: Vote for the Best New Latin Music Release

A Week of Latin Music Innovation

This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin playlist—curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors—features a wave of new albums including Thalia’s Todo Suena Mejor en Cumbia, Nanpa Básico’s Que Tin y Que Tan, and Tokischa’s debut studio set Amor & Droga, to name a few.

Thalia’s Cumbia Celebration

Thalia reeled in Los Ángeles Azules, Yuri, and others for her very conceptual all-cumbia album. “I feel that it’s a moment of celebration, and cumbia is exactly that,” the Mexican singer, who will receive the Icon Award at the 2026 #WomenInMusic Awards on April 29, shared with editors. “It’s a party, family, memories, roots, neighborhood, and it’s just a project that’s so dear to my heart. It’s part of me growing up in Mexico. Cumbia is a big part of our DNA.”

Roots and Identity in Modern Latin Music

Rapper Nanpa Básico also taps deep into his Colombian roots for his latest album, where he explores themes of identity, love, and heartbreak alongside all-Colombian collaborations including Kapo, Camilo, and Kris R. Meanwhile, the #LatinMusic landscape continues to expand with new music from Baby Rasta y Gringo, Greeicy, Young Miko, and Maluma.

The most recent New Music Latin poll was topped by Linea Personal with more than 80% of the vote. Which release this week do you think is best? Give these new releases a spin and vote for your favorite new Latin music release below.

Editor’s Note: The results of the weekly New Music Latin poll will be posted if the poll generates more than 1,000 votes. This poll closes at 9 a.m. ET on Monday, April 20.
