Bunbury Reacts to Fans Who Mistook His Concert for Bad Bunny’s
Spanish rocker Bunbury has addressed a viral social media mix-up that left a group of fans with tickets to the wrong concert. During a recent appearance on the television show La Revuelta on TVE, the artist discussed the incident, which occurred when fans mistakenly purchased tickets for his upcoming performance at the Movistar Arena in Madrid, believing they were securing seats for a Bad Bunny show.
The confusion, which gained traction after a TikTok video surfaced on Feb. 9, stemmed from the proximity of the dates and, according to Bunbury, the phonetic similarity between the two artists’ names. “Not long ago, it came out somewhere that some girls got confused and, instead of buying tickets for Bad Bunny, they bought tickets for Bunbury,” the singer noted during his interview.
Rather than expressing frustration, Bunbury handled the situation with characteristic humor. When asked by the host what message he had for those fans, he replied, “Well, welcome to the concert.” He further clarified his stance on the accidental purchases, adding, “I’m not planning on giving them back.”
Despite the lighthearted nature of the anecdote, Bunbury took the opportunity to defend the quality of his live performances, suggesting that the fans might find themselves pleasantly surprised. “I think if they come, they’re going to enjoy it,” he said.
The artist also touched upon his broader relationship with the digital landscape. He admitted that he generally avoids engaging with online commentary, particularly negative feedback. “You read 100 good comments, and then there’s one that says ‘terrible’ and that one weighs on you more than the others,” he explained. During the same conversation, he recalled a recent encounter at the Latin Grammys, where he and Bad Bunny were seated near one another, though he noted he did not have the opportunity to formally greet the Puerto Rican superstar.
Bunbury is set to embark on his Nuevas Mutaciones Tour later this year. As of press time, representatives for the artist had not provided further comment regarding the ticket mix-up.
