Karol G Dominates the 2024 Heat Latin Music Awards

The 2024 Heat Latin Music Awards, held on Thursday, July 11, saw Karol G emerge as the evening’s biggest winner for the second year in a row. The Colombian sensation secured seven awards, including Best Female Artist, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. Other prominent winners of the night were Feid, Anitta, Morat, Silvestre Dangond, and Los Esquivel.

Hosted at the picturesque Hard Rock Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the fan-voted Premios Heat celebrated its 10th anniversary. The event attracted numerous stars such as Manuel Medrano, Lenny Tavarez, Tito el Bambino, Corina Smith, and viral newcomer Lomiiel, who graced the sandy venue with their presence.

Diana Montes, the founder, expressed the significance of this milestone anniversary. “It’s a very special year because it’s our 10-year anniversary,” she told Billboard. “We’ve expanded our categories, and this year, we’ll name winners in 29 categories, including a video-game streaming song. We’re also going to give out Song of the Year for the first time, and we’re launching a salsa category. We’re also excited about our app, Heat.TV. We launched it in 2021, and we have 647,000 unique monthly users. Last year, we had 5.2 million people watch the show in its entirety on the app.”

The Heat Latin Music Awards continue to honor artists making significant contributions to the Caribbean and Latin American music scenes.

Feid won Best Male Artist, beating out competitors like Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma, Carin León, Arcangel, J Balvin, Eladio Carrion, Chayanne, and Carlos Rivera.

Karol G triumphed in the Best Female Artist category, surpassing Shakira, Young Miko, Maria Becerra, Nicki Nicole, Anitta, Greeicy, Kany García, Kali Uchis, Kenia OS, and Natti Natasha.

Morat took home the Best Group or Band award, edging out Eslabón Armado, Piso 21, Grupo Frontera, Los Ángeles Azules, Grupo Firme, RBD, Wisin & Yandel, Fuerza Regida, Reik, Monsieur Periné, Cultura Profética, and Rawayana.

Mar Rendón emerged as the Best Rock Artist, ahead of Juanes, Morat, Molotov, Maná, Belanova, Jorge Drexler, and Aterciopelados.

Manuel Turizo clinched the Best Pop Artist award, beating Luis Fonsi, Greeicy, Sebastián Yatra, Camilo, Carlos Rivera, Ana Mena, Aitana, Lasso, Maluma, Fonseca, Chris Lebron, and Manuel Medrano.

Karol G also won Best Urban Artist, surpassing Feid, Wisin, Ozuna, Young Miko, Blessd, Eladio Carrion, Duki, Anuel AA, Arcangel, J Balvin, Mora, Myke Towers, Rels B, Justin Quiles, Yandel, and Nicky Jam.
