Nicki Nicole Speaks on Peso Pluma Breakup & How She’s Healing
Nicki Nicole spoke out about her breakup with Peso Pluma. In a recent interview, the Argentinean artist talked about why she felt the need to post a social media message after the public split.
During a new cover interview with Billboard Español – which was done only five days after the breakup – Nicki talked about what’s been healing her after the social media message confirming her breakup. “The truth is that I felt that everything was so public that I couldn’t have done it any other way. People already knew it, and it was uncontrollable,” Nicki said about the public reaction. “What has healed me the most these days are the people, my fans. I received many messages from women congratulating me on the message I sent.”
She continued to say that it would be “unprofessional” for her to stop working every time something personal happened to her since many people work with and for her. “I can’t stop everything. My team doesn’t deserve it. My fans don’t deserve it,” she added.
This is the first time the “DISPARA ***” rapper talks about her breakup with La Doble P, which stemmed from the Mexican singer being filmed strolling hand-in-hand with another woman in Las Vegas, NV, last month (Feb. 12).
After the news broke out, she wrote on her social media: “Respect is a necessary part of love. What is loved, is respected. What is respected, is cared for. When you are not cared for and when there is no respect… I will not stay there. I’m leaving.” She also said she found out about Peso’s alleged cheating the same way everyone else did and thanked her fans for the support.
Moreover, when asked about new music, she didn’t share many details. However, she told Billboard that she has “a lot of inspiration” from “a lot of things that are happening to [her] personally” that she wants to put into music. In a recent concert, she previewed a new sentimental song which fans are speculating is about Peso Pluma.
On the other hand, Peso Pluma has yet to say anything about his past relationship. He’s currently gearing up to start his 2024 Éxodo Tour at the Sueños Festival in Chicago, IL, on May 26.
