Karol G Fires Back at Body-Shamers With Empowering Message

Karol G is promoting her upcoming single “X Si Volvemos” featuring Romeo Santos with some sexy photos. Last night (Jan. 31), the Colombian superstar responded to a person that body-shamed her in the comments. La Bichota used the moment to send a message of body positivity.

Karol G is gearing up to release “X Si Volvemos,” the next single from her upcoming album Mañana Será Bonito. Yesterday, she posted photos on Instagram of what appears to be from the music video shoot. “To switch things up: on the beach in the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana,” Karol G wrote with an X-rated emoji. With a heartbroken emoji, Santos commented, “Toxic love.”

In her Instagram stories, Karol G revealed that someone had commented about her stomach in the photos. The person’s uncalled-for comment mentioned that Karol G’s “worst enemy” must have taken the photos because her stomach is showing. They added that the photographer didn’t do her any favors and that it was their “humble opinion.” Karol G reposted the person’s comment while concealing their identity. She responded that the photos were taken by the best photographer that she has ever worked with. 

“It’s not about whether or not my body favors me, because well, that’s my body and that’s how it is,” Karol G wrote. She then joked about the recent viral moment where a fan gave her a hot dog after the Calibash concert. “The tummy was because of the hot dog that someone gave me at a show a few days ago,” she added.

Karol G used the moment to spread a message of body positivity. “Never let comments like these distort how beautiful you look…everybody is different…everyone is beautiful just the way they are,” she wrote. Karol G also brought up that people should think before commenting about someone’s body because “there’s real people going through difficult times” worrying about cellulite, wrinkles, and fat that are all normal. “Love yourselves a lot,” she added.

Karol G’s new song “X Si Volvemos” with Santos will be released tomorrow. There’s no word yet on when to expect her next album.
