Luis Miguel Soundtracking ‘Mario Kart’ Is the Crossover We Didn’t Know We Needed
Have you ever wondered what “Mario Kart” races would sound like if produced with Luis Miguel’s classic tracks? Well, wonder no more. Puerto Rican TikTok creator Alekz Limas shows us exactly what that would sound like in his TikTok series.
There’s no doubt that the iconic game and Luis Miguel are both iconic in their own right. However, Limas shows in his TikToks that the two combined make for great gameplay. The video game is not only recognizable for its beloved characters and graphic design, but its music is instantly familiar as well.
It all started with a theory that Luis Miguel’s music fit perfectly with the racing game. Limas proved this in his videos showing that the music of the “Ahora te Puedes Marchar” singer is the perfect soundtrack for the game’s races, both with and without lyrics, giving fans a taste of what they didn’t know they needed.
“I didn’t know I needed Luis Miguel songs as songs on Mario Kart in my life,” one Twitter user said. “Now, I can’t live without it.”
Unsurprisingly, fans are loving the imaginary collaboration.
“They should use Luis Miguel songs when they come out with Mario Kart 9,” another suggested.
Since his very first Luis Miguel and Mario Kart crossover video on July 11, the TikToks on Limas’ account have become an ongoing series racking up over 630,000 views as of July 20.
The racing game has been one of Nintendo’s most successful games for generations, from its initial release in 1992 to its latest “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” which has become the best-selling racing game in the nation, surpassing “Mario Kart Wii.” Rumors about “Mario Kart 9” have been circulating since the beginning of the year, with some analysts saying that races would contain new twists.
Could one of the twists be Luis Miguel racing music?
