How Bogota’s Estéreo Picnic Festival Experienced Taylor Hawkins’ Passing

This year’s Coachella festivities are finally around the corner. For those who have attended before, you know that the three-day festival is one thing, but the pre-parties and after-parties are the cherries on top. This year, Remezcla will be part of said celebrations during the first weekend — April 15 and 16 — at the Palm Springs Air Museum, bringing free after-hours parties full of Latine music innovators you can’t miss out on. All you have to do to attend is RSVP to save your spot!

Starting at 9 p.m., Remezcla House’s Friday lineup includes Puerto Rican underground music pioneer DJ Playero, one of the most influential Latine DJs and fashion icons Venus X, and sets by the Mexican R&B artist Girl Ultra and Ugly Primo. On Saturday, the lineup features a headlining set from the original reggaeton raver DJ Blass, the DJ Ape Drums of the Grammy  Award-winning collective Major Lazer, the Buenos Aires-based DJ collective BRESH, a DJ set by 2Deep, and special performances by MC Magic, Jay Roxx and Danny Lux. Yeah, a little bit of everything to wrap up Coachella Weekend 1 on a high note.

“Having two of the original creators of what we now know as modern reggaeton perform on our Desert stage, along with someone like Venus X, who has been pivotal in taking various sounds from the underground and mixing them with Latin music, to us is just incredible,” our Editor-in-Chief Thatiana Diaz explains about the back-to-back late night parties’ lineups. “You can literally see the torch being passed on this lineup: from DJ Playero in the ‘underground’ days, to Blass’ rave-induced perreo, to Venus X’s high-energy melange of music, fashion, and culture.”

Part of this VIP-experience event includes spacious dance floors, immersive activations, complimentary beverages provided by Tecate, and exclusive access to the life-sized fiberglass sculptures “METEORO” and “FANTASIA” by the globally-renowned Mexican native artist Milkman, who is known for his work collaborations with J Balvin, Diplo, and C. Tangana, to name a few.

Moreover, you can already kick start the party by tuning into our new online radio station Sonic Bloom, presented by Pandora. The playlist curated by Remezcla highlights rising Latine artists and genres that embody our essence of diversity and going beyond genre norms. So, who are we seeing at Palm Springs?
