LISTEN: Yolanda Saldívar’s Alleged 911 Call After Killing Selena has Been Leaked
The shooting death of Selena Quintanilla at the hands of Yolanda Saldívar is something no one will ever forget. Fans of the Tex-Mex musical icon have kept Selena’s legacy alive for decades by playing her music and sharing it with younger generations. Recently, the alleged infamous 911 call made by Saldívar was made public on TikTok and has gone viral.
We all remember the scene in the movie when Saldívar was in her car on the phone with the police. The scene shows a distraught Saldívar threatening to take her own life. The recently leaked audio of the 911 call allegedly confirms the sentiment captured in the movie.
The call, posted by TikTok account detodo.commx, starts with Saldívar telling a police officer identified as Larry that she has a gun to her head but doesn’t have the nerve to pull the trigger. Larry tries to calm Saldívar down and convince her to drop the weapon. What follows are moments of unintelligible words from Saldívar who is crying.
“I don’t deserve to live,” Saldívar is heard saying on the recording. “Look what I’ve done to my best friend. I haven’t done anything good. Look what I’ve done. God knows I loved her so much. Did I just hear on the radio that I killed her?”
She continues later in the recording: “Larry, I don’t want to live with this embarrassment, Larry. With the criticism of the world. The rest of my life will be torture because I won’t be able to live in peace.”
Yolanda Saldívar will be eligible for parole in March 2025, 30 years into her life sentence for killing Selena. Selena confronted Saldívar, who ran the Selena fan club, about suspicions that she was embezzling money from the singer. During the confrontation, Saldívar shot and killed Selena.
