The ‘Pepas’ Remix Is Coming Tomorrow — & We’re Not Ready For This Collab
Just when you thought Farruko’s global hit ‘Pepas’ couldn’t get anymore prendido, David Guetta jumps on the remix. The legendary DJ has been teasing the remix on his social media — and now the song is officially on its way. Dropping tomorrow, September 24, as announced by Guetta this collaboration is set to bring extended life to the song of the summer. “My remix of @farruko’s ‘Pepas’ is coming on Friday,” wrote the DJ on his social media.
Guetta tested out the remix at a festival recently, and said it received an “insane reaction.” He also shared in an Instagram Reels that he used a similar concept of his popular track “Love Tonight” for this remix. “You’re going to love this one too,” he says in the clip.
In August, the song snagged the No. 1 slot on five Billboard charts including Hot Latin Songs, Hot Dance/ Electronic Song, Latin Digital Song Sales, Latin Streaming Songs, and Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs lists. The Spanish-language track hit No. 1 in 9 countries and trended in over 22 countries. Given its global success and dance tempo, it comes as no surprise as to why Guetta would take on this highly-anticipated remix. For weeks, people have been waiting on the remix with some speculations floating around. A few names thrown around for the potential remix include: Bad Bunny, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, and Rvssian. And while it’s still a possibility to see more remixes with these rumored artists, at least we have one confirmed on the way with Guetta.
As for the success of the original “Pepas,” Farruko spoke on why he believes its received the global attention it has. He shared in a press statement, “The fans were ready for a song that allows them to enjoy the music without any worry. ‘PEPAS’ is a celebration of life and the possibility of being together dancing wherever we are. That was our intention when we wrote the song and I think that is why the audience has embraced it.”
