You Can Now Apply to Participate in Red Bull Batalla 2023

Any aspiring MCs now have a chance to apply for the 2023 Red Bull Batalla. The application process is currently open for the largest Spanish-language freestyle competition.

Remezcla was present at last year’s Red Bull Batalla event in Dec. Freestylers from several Spanish-speaking countries battled it out in qualifiers and national final events held in the U.S., Latin America, and Spain. The finalists met up at the Red Bull Batalla Mexico World Final, where Mexican rapper Aczino won the competition. He faced competition from Colombia, Spain, Panama, Perú, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and the U.S.

For those MCs that want to follow in Aczino’s footsteps, the online application is now open for the 2023 Red Bull Batalla. People who are interested in applying can upload their freestyle submission video in Spanish via the Red Bull Batalla app by Mar. 31. U.S.-based applicants will have the opportunity to be selected to compete in one of three stateside Red Bull Batalla qualifier events this season.

Online Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges that will include key players in the industry and veteran freestyle MCs from across the Spanish-speaking music landscape. Applicants who are selected to advance to the next phase will compete in a series of regional cups and qualifier events in the U.S. The top 16 contenders will then travel to the U.S. National Finals in November to freestyle for the title of 2023 Red Bull Batalla National Champion.

In Dec., the national champions will compete in the World Final in Colombia where one winner will be crowned the new Red Bull Batalla 2023 World Champion. For the first time this year, two national champions at the event will represent the U.S. The future finalist will be joining OneR who won last year’s U.S. national title.
