The designer who gave us the jean-panty hybrid has landed the role of creative director

This just in: Y/Project’s Glenn Martens is adding another string to his bow, as steps into the role of creative director of Diesel with immediate effect.

Having previously joined forces with the legendary Italian label back in 2018, when he dropped a collaborative collection as part of its Red Tab series, the Belgian designer will oversee style, comms, and interior design for the brand.

Of course, he’s no stranger to denim, subverting the material regularly within his collections for Y/Project – with blue jean chaps and signature ‘janties’ (which, in case you’re not familiar, sit somewhere between jean-shorts and panties) among some of his most memorable designs.

With no clue for now as to when his first collection’s likely to drop, the question is: are we going to see either of the iconique styles get a Diesel re-release? Fingers firmly crossed tbh.
