What Does Camille Vasquez Think About Netflix’s New Docuseries ‘Depp v. Heard’?
It was only a matter of time before the sensationalized trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard from last year was turned into a docuseries. In Depp v. Heard, audiences are taken back into the defamation case to see “both testimonies side-by-side for the first time” and explore “the online fallout that ensued.”
Someone who had a front-row set in the legal process was one of Depp’s lawyers, Camille Vasquez. During the trial Vasquez became a focus for some social media users who spread rumors that she was having an affair with her famous client.
Now, with Depp v. Heard streaming on Netflix, Vasquez is talking about her experience working on a case that captured the curiosity of Hollywood rubberneckers. In a recent interview, Vasquez said she was unaware of how big the trail was going to become and how she thought director Emma Cooper did in piecing together the events.
“We had no idea [that] there was this media, social, storm brewing outside,” Vasquez said. “To see the way Emma put together that docuseries … I found it really interesting.”
Vasquez added: “She utilized the court testimony in a way that told a really compelling, truthful account of what took place inside those four walls in Virginia.”
Camille Vasquez became such a popular figure in the trial, after it was completed, sources said she was receiving attention from several TV networks and law firms that wanted to put her on their payroll. We’re not sure if she’ll become a TV star anytime soon, but it looks like her stock is still riding high.
