It’s no secret that fashion and clubbing go hand-in-hand. Continually ressurecting new waves of nightlife nostalgia, luxury labels have long drawn inspiration from sweaty dancefloors and the countercultural club-goers that shape and create communities. 

Now, offering a fresh nod to club culture is Sergio Rossi, in the form of its exclusive shoe line SI ROSSI by Sergio Rossi. For its AW22 collection, the Italian label presents footwear built on the colours, shapes, and moods of mid-90s clubbing.

Celebrating the launch and capturing the spirit of these countercultures, the label joined forces with Dazed to create a new short film, titled The SI ROSSI Sessions. Directed by Piczo and starring London-based musician and model duo The Bloom Twins, the film follows the artists as they perform a track written especially for the film – titled “Heart on Ice”.

“Does life have a price / Did you look into his eyes,” the twins chant over an electronic bass, while lounging on guitar amps and swaying before the film’s blue carpeted backdrop and showing off SI ROSSI by Sergio Rossi’s petrolio and iris-coloured heels, patent leather Mary Jane pumps, and platform boots. 

Elsewhere, the duo is pictured mixing-and-matching the shoes’ bold bottoms and minimalistic uppers with black tights and blazers, tartan skirts paired with leather moto-jackets, and glittering tights – perhaps reinventing the label to mark a new, forward-thinking club-kid uniform for Gen-Z.

Translated into the collection, this means two-toned, curved-heeled loafers; platformed, latex, mid-calf boots; soft, napa leather mules; deep, jewel-toned pumps; and tall, sculptured heels – the emblem of the collection, paying homage to the brand’s hyper-recognisable design and craftsmanship. Altogether, think sleek, reimagined versions of London’s 90s grunge scene and Berlin raver uniforms.
